With Varilux Ellipse 360^o, the optical effect of the wearer prescription is taken into consideration to produce a unique back surface design that will optimize the visual performance of the lens.

• There is a wider field of vision with a 145o angle of exceptional acuity in the far vision zone.
• Through calculation and design, the near vision zone is positioned at the exact location. Therefore with more accurate placement of the near vision zone in front of the pupil, the larger the near vision zone appears to be.

As there is less usable lens surface in a small frame, it is more important that each vision area is perfectly position. The greatest improvement concerns the near vision. Based on the wearer's prescription and the index of the lens selected, the ideal position of the near vision area is calculated to adhere to the person's natural convergence.

Digital surfacing is then used to position this near vision area at the exact spot determined by the calculation to within one-thousandth of a millimeter!
